Human Resources Generalist

Job Description

The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting day-to-day human resources functions across the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring smooth and effective HR operations, including recruitment support, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, compliance, and HR data management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, people-focused, and able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review, track, and document compliance with training, education, and assessments (e.g., safety, harassment, licensure).
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate hiring in collaboration with department managers.
  • Conduct background checks and verify employment eligibility.
  • Implement orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Administer programs related to compensation, benefits, leave, discipline, investigations, and more.
  • Address employment inquiries and escalate sensitive matters appropriately.
  • Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and recommend policy updates.
  • Stay current on HR trends, regulations, and technology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least 1 year of human resource management experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to access and navigate organization facilities.
